PEACE ON THE WATERFRONT:
Pension Tupuna is peacefully situated
on the waterfront of beautiful Bourayne bay on French Polynesia's Society
Island of Huahine- Iti. The bay is one of the most picturesqueparts of the
entire island and our property is fairly remote in its secretive location.
At night, you can hear the waves of the nearby ocean crashing against the
coral
reefs. During the day, you'll be enchanted and soothed by the lovely sounds
of birds chirping in the surrounding forest.
We have a nice little private sand beach
right on our property and are located (by good fortune) nearby one of the
nicest strips of beach on the entire island, the location of the now famous
but non-existant Hana-Iti 5 star hotel. (destroyed by a hurricane in 1995)
We're also not far from the village of
Fare, but you'd probably have a hard time finding us the first time without
a guide. (Don't worry, we'll pick you up from the airport in our custom
4 wheel drive vehicle at no charge.)

NATURAL LANDSCAPING, BEAUTIFUL SETTING:
Landscaping
with the beautiful and natural surroundings of Huahine is our passion! There
are plenty of trees and flowering plants including vanilla, mape, and tamanu,
among others. The Tupuna grounds and gardens are all artfully designed from
local, native plants, and lovingly arranged to please the eye and spirit.
We are connesseurs of plants and enjoy creating art objects and working with things we can find right here on the Tupuna grounds.
This allows us to offer you more than just a stay on Huahine,
but an experience of the island that you will be able to take home with you and dream about...
OUR ROOMS AND COTTAGES:
In the same spirit as our carefully landscaped
grounds, our cottages are designed to make you feel comfortable and a part
of your natural surroundings. Cut and shingled from wood right here on the
grounds,
they are simple, single rooms, with large beds, a night-table, and electric
lights. We decorate them with art and fabrics that are interesting to the
eye and soothing to the taste... one of a kind creations we enjoy sharing
with our guests!
Rooms are clean, with comfortable bedding, and all equipped with mosquito nets, if you should need them...
RATES & OTHER PARTICULARS:
We have 3 rooms (individual bungalows)
available at 7100 cfp/ 2 people, with discounts for extended stays. (Single
persons get 
discount
down to 5000 cfp if they stay with us more than 2 nights.)

Rates include all taxes and a FREE BREAKFAST
consisting of juice, tea, water, or coffee and bread, jam, butter, honey,
and many kinds of fresh fruit from the island. Gourmet dinners are cooked
every night and available for 2500 cfp. We serve delicious and healthy island
dishes but welcome you to 
tell
us what you like!
Our individual bungalows have their own
private washrooms with hot water and shower. Each one is designed in the same
natural and unique style as the rest of the buildings and landscaping on the
property. In addition, there are 2 more communal washrooms within close vacinity
of your bungalows which have the flush toilets on the premises. These are
communal and cleaned regularly and we also have laundry facilities available
on request.

CUSTOM COOKING, COMFORTABLE LOUNGE:
We love to cook tasty meals for you in
our comfortable lounge! In order to prepare the best meals for you, we'll
need to know your tastes, likes and dislikes. Then, we'll purchase the fresh
food from the market and cook it the same night we buy it.
Our nightly gourmet dinners are only 2,000
cfp/ per person and compete in quality with any of the finest restaurants
on the island! (In fact, one of our chefs used to be the head chef at
Huahine's only 5 star restaurant.)
If you're the self sufficient type, it's no
problem to make your own meals and buy your own food. Our kitchen is equipped
with a freezer, refrigerator, and gas stove for cooking.
You'll enjoy your lunches, dinner and drinks in our
specially decorated "island lounge" complete with woodwork and natural
sculpting from things we find on Huahine. We can listen to music if you wish,
create custom "island" jewelry, sip exotic cocktails, party as late
into the evening as you want, or discuss your plans for the next day on Huahine.
ACTIVITIES AVAILABLE:
We love to share our knowledge of Huahine island
with you. We enjoy helping you plan and coordinate many activities including:
Renting cars for circle island exploration, deep sea fishing expeditions,
world class scuba diving, horse back riding, snorkeling tours, and much more.
On the Tupuna grounds:
* Kayaks and midsized hobie cat sailboats are available for use at no extra
charge. And of course swimming and sun worshipping is always a good option.
Our own specialty activities include:
* Garden Tour or botanical visit of our garden (we have many varieties of
flowers and tropical fruits trees)
* 4x4 trip around the island with Franck or Loretta at 4000 cfp per person
(to see archeological sites, old fish traps of Maeva village, peal farm fresh
water blue eye ills, beautiful landscape and fauna of huahine).
KAYA and her girlfriend:
Kaya is our classic Huahine dogfriend! She is
2 years old now and very playful. She has a wonderful spirit and personality
and is very, very friendly. And now we are happy to announce we have another
dogfriend for Kaya to keep her company.
What
kind of dogs are they? We have no idea, but they look amazingly similiar to
many other dogs on the island! We love their skills as watchdogs for our property
and know they look forward to meeting you "in person", or, in their
case, "in doggie".
Note: Both animals are quiet, clean, and well
behaved. For those people who don't like dogs, no problem, we understand and
can keep them away from you if you wish.
